WinBook PowerSpec 7501 - CNET

The Vista-compatible WinBook PowerSpec 7501 PC has been reviewed over at CNET. 'Like many $999 and under PCs this year, WinBook's PowerSpec 7150 aims for a bare-essentials sweet spot, combining an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and a discrete graphics card into an affordable Windows Vista-ready desktop. At its core, its configuration is almost identical to the Velocity Micro Vector GX Campus Edition we reviewed way back in July. That system (now called the "Holiday Edition") no longer has the 17-inch LCD included in its price, but, when we match its specs to the WinBook's, the Velocity Micro system is $30 cheaper and comes with a faster 3D card.

WinBook T230 Notebook Reviewed

A review of the WinBook T230 notebook PC has been posted over at Laptop Magazine. 'Sometimes, a machine doesn’t have to be thrilling to be worth the investment. The WinBook T230 won’t take your breath away with bleeding-edge multimedia features or a stunning design. But it’s nonetheless a solid entry, combining good dual-core-powered performance with a complete feature set in a thin, relatively light package that’s well priced at $1,199. The only strike against this thin-and-light system is its below-average battery life.

WinBook WS5000 Core 2 Duo Notebook At MobileWhack

MobileWhack previews the new Core 2 Duo WinBook WS5000 from Sotec which is available to consumers in Japan. 'Weighing just about 1.6Kg, it measures 274x232x34mm and delivers up to 4.2 hours of autonomy and the optional Long haul Lithium ion battery model delivers a staggering 6.7 hours of operating time. The system comes loaded with Mobile Intel 945GM Express + ICH7-M board and also Windows XP home/professional edition with SP2 operating system. The primary storage comes with a default 512MB DDR2 SD RAM and if at all you feel there is a need for extra bit of RAM you can always go in for an upgrade model featuring 1GB RAM at few extra bucks, and also not to mention the SD memory slot. The optical storage gets an optional double layered DVD drive and on the connectivity side it features USB 2.0 and a wireless LAN port.'

WinBook PowerSpec 9800 PCReview

CNET has reviewed WinBook's high-performance PowerSpec 9800 desktop PC. 'The PowerSpec 9800 has very similar specs to many of the other Core 2 Duo systems we've reviewed over the past few weeks. It comes with a Core 2 Extreme X6800 CPU, 2GB of 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM, a 512MB ATI Radeon X1900 XT 3D card in dual-card CrossFire mode, a pair of fast 10,000rpm 150GB Western Digital Raptor hard drives, and a 300GB 7,200rpm drive for added storage.
