MSI FX600 Review - IT Reviews

MSI-FX600-IT-Reviews.jpg

IT Reviews have published a review of the MSI FX600 notebook PC. 'The machine is built on an Intel Core i3-330M with 4GB of DDR3 memory and a 500GB hard drive. Graphics are provided by an nVidia GeForce GT325M with 1GB of its own memory. This is more than enough for video and movie playback and will happily run games like Call Of Duty 4 with decent frame rates. Although the battery pack has six cells, TestBattery returned just under 3 hours 20 minutes on a single charge. This isn't great, though it's long enough to play a full feature film. It makes the FX600 more a machine to move between, say, home and office, than to take with you on a long trip away from a power socket.'

MSI GT660R Review - Notebook Review

MSI-GT660R-Notebook-Review.jpg

A review of the MSI GT660R gaming notebook has been posted over at Notebook Review. 'The build quality of the MSI GT660R is a combination of good and bad. The solid main chassis doesn't squeak, creak, or flex even under significant pressure. Unfortunately, the keyboard suffers from quite a bit of obvious flex under heavy typing pressure and the screen lid flexes inward with ease. The screen hinges are nice and tight, but the heavy use of glossy plastics means that your fingerprints and smudges quickly cover every exposed surface of the notebook and make it look dirty unless you constantly clean your notebook with a microfiber cloth. The metal-reinforced main chassis offers a fair amount of structural rigidity for the plethora of high-performance components inside, but this also adds to the bulk and weight of the notebook.'

MSI P600 Review - Laptop Mag

MSI-P600-Laptop-Mag.jpg

Laptop Magazine have published a review of the MSI P600 notebook. 'At 15.4 x 10 x 1.1 inches and 5.4 pounds, the MSI P600 isn't the lightest notebook on the block, but it's on a par with other 15.6 systems in the same price range, such as the Dell Studio 15z (5.4 pounds, 15 x 9.9 x 1 inches) and the Toshiba L505-GS5035, which is heavier at 6 pounds. The P600's chassis has a conservative look that fits in the home or workplace. Its light-gray lid has a subtle grid pattern and hardly shows fingerprints, despite its glossy plastic finish. The black interior of the system sports a classier design as its textured deck and palm rest combine with an attractive island-style keyboard.'

MSI-GX740-TweakTown.jpg

A review of the MSI GX740 17-inch gaming notebook has been posted over at TweakTown. 'On the front edge of the computer is a pair of speakers along with the status LEDs to show what's going on with the machine. You can also see a bit of the bottom here with a subwoofer, cooling grates and the covers over RAM and storage. You can see the brushed black aluminum looking top of the machine here along with the back panel. On the rear we have cooling vents, HDMI out, D-Sub and the power port.'

MSI X-Slim X350 Review - Laptop Mag

By Admin on June 27, 2010 10:05 PM | No Comments

MSI-X-Slim-X350-Laptop-Mag.jpg

Laptop Magazine have published a review of the MSI X-Slim X350 ultraportable. ''At 8.8 x 13 inches with a thickness ranging from 0.3 to 0.8 inches at its thickest point, the MSI X350 has one of the slimmest profiles you'll find in any notebook. The eight-cell battery gives the back bottom a little bump, and the machine has a total weight of 3.8 pounds, making it a little heavier than competitors such as the 3-pound MacBook Air. However, the additional weight is worth the significant increase in battery life (more on that below). Like its predecessor, the X350 comes in a sleek shade of black. Its glossy lid sports a subtle grey honeycomb pattern that looks very refined, but picks up fingerprints.'

MSI Wind U135 Review - Pocket-lint

By Admin on March 3, 2010 7:42 PM | No Comments

MSI-Wind-U135-Pocket-lint.jpg

Pocket-lint have published their review of the MSI Wind U135 notebook. 'The U135 falls firmly into the former category, offering up a typical spec for a notebook. Internally it is running an Intel Atom N450 processor at 1.6GHz with 1GB RAM (expandable up to 2GB) and a 250GB hard drive. The Atom N450 is Intel's latest processor to make its way into netbooks, offering greater efficiency over the chips we saw last year. It doesn't bring with it any really noticeable gains in processing power, but is much more efficient, so you get longer battery life. The U135 has a 10-inch LED backlit display, with a native resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, which is typical for this type of netbook. Some will always complain about the resolution however, accepting the limitations of a small format notebook, we think it is good enough for most daily tasks on the move.'

PowerPro 10:17 Review - Notebook Review

By Admin on January 19, 2010 7:55 PM | No Comments

PowerPro-10-17.jpg

Notebook Review have published a review of the PowerPro 10:17 (MSI 1727) gaming notebook. 'The 10:17 has a nondescript look. It has no outstanding design features; the chassis is a traditional rectangle shape sans radical curves or designs. It is reasonably slim for a 17-inch notebook at about one and a half inches thick at the highest point. The plastic used in the construction is noticeably thicker than what makes up most consumer notebooks. It has a solid feel and does not rattle when tapped. One design characteristic of the 10:17 we appreciate is the use of matte plastic instead of glossy plastic; matte plastic is not only more durable but also far easier to keep clean. The 10:17's matte surfaces feel very smooth.

MSI X600 Review - Pocket-lint

By Admin on October 21, 2009 3:46 PM | No Comments

MSI-X600.jpg

A review of the MSI X600 notebook has been posted over at Pocket-lint.com. 'The MSI X600 is the latest addition to the company's ultra-slim X-series, following on from the affordable X300. With a larger 15.6-inch screen, the X600 isn't as small, but it's still impressively portable for such a large machine. The most striking aspect is just how thin and light it is - measuring 25mm at its thickest, and weighing in at 2.1kg. The 15.6-inch screen offers impressive brightness levels, but contrast could be better, with colours appearing over-exposed. With a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, it's a sharp panel, and it's great for watching films on.'
