Toshiba NB250 Review - Reg Hardware

Reg Hardware have published a review of the Toshiba NB250 netbook. 'It's one of the few netbooks to make use of Intel's Atom N455. Although very similar to the N450 - 1.66GHz clock speed, single-core, 45nm etc. - the N455 supports DDR 3 memory. With this in mind, Toshiba has included 1GB of DDR 3 memory, but there's no noticeable improvement in performance. In fact, it fell slightly behind N450-driven netbooks in our benchmarks. The Atom N455 also has a higher TDP: 6.5W compared to the N450's 5.5W. This adversely effects battery life: the NB250's 48Wh battery only managed 3h 42m, which is less than N450-based netbooks with a similar capacity battery.'

Toshiba-NB300-IT-Reviews.jpg

A review of the Toshiba NB300 netbook has been posted over at IT Reviews. 'Decked out in an all-black chassis, the NB300 certainly looks more attractive than its predecessor, and at 1.3kg it's roughly the same weight as most other netbooks. All the usual ports are present (Ethernet, card reader, VGA-out, audio and three USB), while a series of LEDs on the front lip let you know what's active and what's not. Stereo speakers sit just underneath the front of the netbook. They're not particularly loud and produce very tinny audio, so if you plan to use it as a portable jukebox you'll either need some headphones or a separate speaker system.'

Toshiba NB305 Review - Pocket-lint

A review of the Toshiba NB305 netbook has been posted over at Pocket-lint. 'The netbook's lid has a gleaming Toshiba logo in the middle of its slightly ridged finish. This finish is pleasantly tactile and the chrome hinge has a central power switch that glows white when you turn the computer on. The inclusion of Windows 7, even though it's only in the netbook-friendly Starter Edition, means it launches quickly, and the 10.1-inch, 1024 x 600 pixel screen, though not HD resolution, is a bright, LED-backlit affair that looks decent enough. It has a glossy finish though so is prone to reflections.'

Toshiba-Satellite-Pro-T130-IT-Reviews.jpg

IT Reviews have published a review of the Toshiba Satellite Pro T130 notebook. 'For such a small notebook - 13.3-inch screen, 323 x 223 x 22.2-34.2mm - the Satellite Pro T130 is surprisingly heavy. Its 1.76kg mean you'll notice the weight. But a key reason for the weight of the Satellite Pro T130 is the very robust build. If you do decide to carry it, it should take a fair few knocks. The shiny black finish on the chassis won't appeal to all, but we found it quite aesthetically pleasing. The 13.3-inch screen delivers 1366 x 768 pixels. The shiny screen coating helps with clarity when viewing video, though as ever it is a bit reflective.'

Toshiba Qosmio X500 Review - CNET Asia

CNET Asia have published a review of the Toshiba Qosmio X500 (Core i7 720QM Processor 1.6GHz, 4GB RAM) notebook. 'With a massive 18-inch 1080p display, it's no surprise our review unit included a Blu-ray drive (a bandwagon Toshiba has been reluctant to hop onboard as it was the driving force behind HD-DVD). Those features (plus a second solid-state hard drive) make for a system that costs US$1,899--not much compared with the tricked-out Alienware laptops of old, but considered very high-end in today's Netbook-obsessed market. HP, Asus, and others also have Core i7 gaming rigs in the works, which may be worth considering if you want a Core i7 and high-end graphics without paying for Blu-ray, the SSD drive, and other pricey features.'

Toshiba-Satellite-T115-S1105-PCWorld.jpg

PC World have published a review of the Toshiba Satellite T115-S1105 netnook. 'The 11.6-inch widescreen places the T115 in a select group of netbooks with oversized screens. This one, along with every other one in its class, employs a 1,366-by-768 resolution, so you get more pixels than that of a 1,024-by-600 one that is standard among 10-inch widescreens, like the one found in the Toshiba mini NB205. My compliments to Toshiba for including a full size keyboard when similar netbooks, like the HP 311 and Asus 1101HA, are topping out at 92% of full size. It's easier to implement a full size typing experience on a 12-inch platform, which is exactly what the Lenovo S12 (Ion) and the Samsung NC20 did.

Toshiba-mini-NB205-N330BL.jpg

Laptop Magazine have published a review of the Toshiba mini NB205-N330BL netbook. 'With most netbooks sporting the same guts (except for the HP Mini 311, which features Nvidia's Ion platform for added graphics punch), design becomes a major differentiator, and Toshiba doesn't disappoint. Our model featured a Royal Blue lid that's adorned with raised horizontal lines, giving the PC a textured surface that's interesting to touch. Combined with an elegant, shiny blue hinge (with a glowing power button at its center) and a silver finish on the deck, the NB205 has an executive-chic look. At 10.4 x 8.3 x 1.2 inches, the NB205 is quite compact. It's a hair smaller than the 11.4 x 8.0 x 1.2-inch HP Mini 311 (which houses an 11.6-inch display). The six-cell battery juts out from the back of the system, but because this netbook weighs just 3 pounds, we didn't mind too much.'
