Acer-Ferrari-One.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Acer Ferrari One - 11.6in netbook. 'Given its Ferrari association it's no surprise to see plenty of Scuderia inspired elements in the Ferrari One's design. Its scarlet red lid is a given, as are the famous prancing horse badges so iconic of the folks from Maranello. Other 'sporty' touches include the faux-carbon fibre on the palm-rest and, somewhat bizarrely, the tyre inspired rubber feet. In truth, though, due to the constraints on price this isn't the flamboyant, decadent product that past Ferrari-branded efforts were. Fundamentally, then, this is good-looking, well-designed machine. It won't leave people gasping in admiration and inevitably some may dislike the connotations of owning a Ferrari-branded product, but it won't embarrass you either.'

Lenovo-IdeaPad-S12-Geek.jpg

Geek.com have published a review of the Lenovo IdeaPad S12 netbook . 'The IdeaPad S12 is the big brother to the IdeaPad S10-2. The use of a 12.1-inch display is a logical progression from 7-inches, to 9 then 10, but it's pushing the limits of netbook territory. The system itself is a bit bulky for what it is, after all, you can't expect the magnesium case or ultrathin LCD lid of an ultraportable, but you do get a full-sized display and keyboard in a mobile package. The $449 IdeaPad S12 runs Intel's Atom N270 processor, 1GB RAM, a 160GB 5400RPM disk, Windows XP Home, and a 1280×800 display.'

HP Mini 311 Review - Pocket-lint

HP-Mini-311-Review.jpg

Pocket-lint have published their "First Look" review of the HP Mini 311 notebook PC. 'It isn't the slimmest of notebooks in this size, with a wedge shape that is distinctly plump at the back. This is partly down to the use of the Intel Atom processor and Nvidia ION chip, as opposed to the an Intel CULV processor which would give a slimmer profile, but cost more and arguably lack the benefits offered by ION. The 11.6-inch, 1366 x 768 pixel resolution display means it gets that "HD" tag, and thanks to the Nvidia ION chip, it can exploit that screen to best effect. The screen has a glossy finish, which brings punch to action on the screen, but won't be so popular with those who want to use the notebook on the move - reflections can be a problem.'

Dell-Latitude-2100-Review.jpg

A review of the Dell Latitude 2100 netbook has been posted over at the Register Hardware. 'When you lay hands on the 2100, the first thing that strikes you is the textured, rubberised skin that covers both the lid and base of the machine. It's a unique netbook feature as far as we know and we have to ask why it hasn't been done before. It ensures that the machine sits very securely on a desk. It also feels more grippy in the hand than the usual slick netbook casings, reducing the chances of it slipping out of the grasp of a careless ankle biter, or a tired and emotional grown-up.'

Lenovo-IdeaPad-S10-2.jpg

TweakTown have published a review of the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 netbook. 'The netbook group is a tight pack when it comes to benchmark results and the S10-2 was near the top in its tests, but the results are so close as to be a wash in the real world. The netbook market has basically become a commodity environment where users can just buy on price. That's enough complaining about the lack of innovation from the netbook market for today. The Lenovo S10-2 has a decent keyboard with well-spaced keys and a full sized right shift key in its correct location. The keyboard has decent tactile feel and is a clone of the keyboards on most other netbooks I have tested.'

Gateway LT3103u Review - CNET

Gateway-LT3103u.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Gateway LT3103u netbook. 'The basic black design of the LT31 won't turn many heads--although Gateway gets consistency points for matching the industrial design of its mainstream MD series laptops, down to the vertical chrome accent bar on the back of the lid. The system also feels like a slightly refined version of sister-brand Acer's 11-inch Acer Aspire One 751h. The interior is matte black on the keyboard tray, gloss black on the screen bezel, with a subtle indented dot pattern on the wrist rest. We were torn by the keyboard. The large, flat-topped keys looked snazzy with their gently rounded corners, and were big enough for even fat fingers to use comfortably.'

Dell-Latitude-2100.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Dell Latitude 2100 netbook. 'As far as design goes, rather than looking like a children's toy we'd call the 2100 industrial. This rugged, serious impression is enforced by its strong, aggressive lines and uniform, matte black insides with the blue-backlit power button and indicator icons. The matte bezel surrounding the screen contains the optional webcam as well as surprisingly impressive (by netbook standards) speakers. Though inevitably on the tinny side when it comes to bass, the mid range is generally clear and they manage relatively high volume levels without significant distortion.'

Samsung-Go-N310.jpg

A review of the Samsung Go N310-13GB netbook has been posted over at PC Magazine. 'Draped in orange, the N310-13GB conjures up images of a life preserver or a ruggedized piece of luggage. The rubbery texture that surrounds the entire frame has the ability to withstand wear and tear, as well as your grimy fingers. Netbooks like the NB205 and the HP Mini 5101 achieve the same effect with their texturized chassis, whereas the shiny coats on the Acer Aspire One (D250-1165) and the Lenovo Ideapad S12 are smudge magnets. The round edges make the N310-13GB look more oval than boxy, which is another design element that shouldn't be overlooked. At 2.9 pounds, it's as heavy as the NB205 and the Dell Inspiron Mini 10v, but, in the case of the N310-13GB, that weight's mainly attributable to the large 6-cell batterY.'

Asus-Eee-PC-1101HA-Seashell.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Asus Eee PC 1101HA Seashell (black) netbook. 'The design of the 1101HA will seem familiar to anyone who has seen the 10-inch 1005HA version of the Eee PC (one of our favorite Netbooks). There's a tapered front lip, and a gentle slope to the system, making it slightly thicker in the rear. There's still enough room for standard VGA and Ethernet jacks on the sides, but just barely. Thanks to the slim design and efficient use of space, the 1101 doesn't feel much bulkier than a 10-inch Netbook, which makes it worth a look, if 10-inch screens are just too small, but you still value portability and weight above all else.'

Lenovo-IdeaPad-S12.jpg

Laptop Magazine have published their review of the Lenovo IdeaPad S12 netbook. 'The S12 has similar design features common to other models in the IdeaPad line; not only does it share traits with the smaller S10-2, but its keyboard is also reminiscent of the larger IdeaPad Y450. While it has the same polarizing pattern on its lid (which is either a subliminal advertisement for Target or misplaced nostalgia for 70s-era wallpaper), we like the S12's design a bit more than the S10-2, mainly owing to its larger size. While its edges are still beveled like the S10-2, they're not as pronounced, making the S12 seem more like the original S10, whose boxier design we admired. Still, the chrome-wrapped edges of the Samsung NC20, and the fact that it better conceals its six-cell battery (the S12's protrudes out the back) give the Samsung a slicker look.'
