Sony Vaio VPC-F215FX/BI Review - CNET

Sony-Vaio-VPC-F215FX-BI-CNET.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Sony Vaio VPC-F215FX/BI laptop. 'As with most Vaio systems, it's slick, attractive, and well-built. It's also almost obscenely heavy for reasons we can't quite fathom; other 3D laptops manage to weigh the same as their non-3D counterparts. Sony's take on 3D for laptops is unique. The system uses Nvidia's 3D Vision platform, which is the gold standard of laptop 3D (and honestly, beats most 3DTVs), but instead of using Nvidia's active shutter glasses, Sony includes a custom pair, which works on both this laptop as well as Sony's line of 3DTVs. It's a nice touch if you happen to own both, but it also highlights the consumer-interest-killing fragmentation in stereoscopic 3D.'

Sony Vaio Z Review - Stuff Middle East

Sony-Vaio-Z-StuffMiddleEast.jpg

Stuff Middle East have published a review of the Sony Vaio Z laptop. 'The Vaio Z offers a choice of three CPUs, all of which are quicker than anything an Air can offer. The middle option used for this review, for example, has a humble Intel Core i5, but it runs almost a full gigahertz faster than the best of its rivals. Even more impressive is the fact that battery life isn't sacrificed for this extra performance. The Vaio Z will keep going for the best part of seven hours on a single charge, and stays close to that duration looping video too. It won't take you seven hours to figure out where the extra money is going, though. In fact, it's obvious as soon as you turn the machine on. The 1600×900 resolution screen is superb for fine detail and rich colours whether your editing videos, photographs or playing a game.'

Sony Vaio C Series (15.5-inch) Review - Digital Trends

Sony-Vaio-C-Series-15-5-inch-Digital-Trends.jpg

Digital Trends have published a review of the Sony Vaio C Series (15.5-inch) laptop. 'Taking in this laptop at-a-glance is difficult. Given just a moment's attention, it appears rather conventional. Our review unit's dark purple color is intriguing, but not instantly exciting, as in some lighting it appears black. On closer inspection, however, the laptop comes to life. Both the lid and the interior palmrest are finished with an unusual double coating. A patterned texture is visible, but a layer of gloss is paved over it, creating a sense of depth. It's different, elegant, and beautiful. The beauty turns out to be skin-deep. While much of the chassis is solid, there is noticeable flex on bottom, directly beneath the location of the optical drive.'

Sony Vaio VPCCB15FG Review - PCWorld.in

Sony-Vaio-VPCCB15FG-PCWorld.jpg

PCWorld.in have published a review of the Sony Vaio VPCCB15FG laptop. 'The VPCCB15FG laptop has a translucent plastic green back lid with the Vaio design imprinted in the middle and a smaller size Sony logo at the top. This same translucent plastic moulding extends to the palmrest and the area above the keyboard - not covering the keyboard, screen bezel and the bottom of the laptop. It has to be noted that this green plastic form does attract its' fair share of finger impressions and smudges. The laptop features a full sized chiclet style keyboard with the multi-gesture touchpad located below the keyboard, positioned towards the left end.'

Sony Vaio Z Review - CNET

Sony-Vaio Z-CNET.jpg

CNET have published a review of the feature-rich Sony Vaio Z laptop. 'The slim, black carbon fiber body of the Sony Vaio Z actually looks quite different from the last Vaio Z we reviewed. That model was thicker, with black keys against a silver finish, and a two-tone base. Its main claim to fame was the inclusion of a whopping 256GB SSD storage system, which drove the price up to $2,300. In comparison, the new Vaio Z looks and feels like an entirely different machine. In fact, it reminds us of an older Vaio, the TZ150, which was one of the last pre-Netbook $2,000-plus ultraportables back in 2007. The matte black finish and slatelike chassis look great (and ditch the common Sony rounded-screen hinge), but at the same time, all the various joints and seams reminds us of how much we like the minimalism of Apple's unibody construction.'

Sony VAIO Z (2011) Review - Laptop Mag

Sony-VAIO-Z-2011-LaptopMag.jpg

Laptop Magazine have published a review of the Sony VAIO Z (2011) laptop. 'The VAIO Z looks like the kind of laptop that would be at home on Christian Bale's desk in American Psycho, and we mean that as a compliment. While the rounded edges on the MacBook Air and Samsung Series 9 give them more of a space-age vibe, this black machine is all about square edges and pointed corners, giving it more of a retro-80s look. (The front two corners are almost too sharp.) Sony offers three color choices for the lid: Carbon black, carbon indigo, and premium carbon black. Ours came in Carbon black, which looks cool and classy. The VAIO Z is made pretty tough, too, with a carbon-fiber back, lid, and bezel, as well as an aluminum deck and palm rest. We especially like the way the hinge drops down on this notebook, which, in combination with the metal stripe on the lid's bottom, gives the VAIO Z a striking profile.

Sony VAIO C Series Review - Trusted Reviews

Sony-VAIO-C-Series-Trusted-Reviews.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Sony VAIO C Series laptop. 'Opening the laptop up, the kindest description we can give is 'quirky'. The plain matt plastic main chassis is complemented by a thick transparent layer surrounding the keyboard and forming the palm-rests, broken up by little rubber protectors and what we can only describe as rivet holes. We're fairly sure the other versions would hold up better, but quite frankly, everyone who saw the VPCCA1S1E/W (i.e. the white model) thought it was unattractive and cheap-looking. Incredibly, Sony claim that this plasticky machine is "the most beautifully finished VAIO ever". We're glad to say that that's not even close to being the case when compared to its currently available products, let alone with carbon fibre stunners like the VAIO Z soon to make an entrance.'

Sony Vaio EB Series VPC-EB44FX/WI Review - CNET

By Admin on July 6, 2011 10:16 PM | No Comments

Sony-Vaio-EB-Series-VPC-EB44FX-WI-CNET.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Sony Vaio EB Series VPC-EB44FX/WI laptop. ' The widely spaced island-style keys have long been a favorite, with full-sized Shift and Enter keys. This midsize model also has a full number pad and there's a trio of quick-launch buttons above the keyboard (just outside of the area covered by the keyboard skin). The quick-launch buttons launch a self-help support suite, a Web browser, and Sony's proprietary multimedia software. The touch pad, while not as large as it could be on a system this size, was especially pleasant to use, thanks to a slightly raised dot pattern that offered just enough tactile feedback. Big left and right mouse buttons sit beneath, and the entire touch-pad package is centered under the keyboard spacebar, which means it sits slightly to the left on the chassis, as the keyboard is offset by the number pad on the right.'

Sony VAIO EC Review - Notebook Review

By Admin on January 28, 2011 2:46 PM | No Comments

Sony-VAIO-EC-Notebook-Review.jpg

Notebook Review have published a review of the Sony VAIO EC laptop. 'The Sony VAIO EC is a 17-inch mainstream and multimedia laptop from Sony. The E-series notebooks are the most affordable full-featured notebooks in the VAIO product line and you can probably argue that the "E" stands for "Economy class." The laptop body is made of a combination of matte and polished black plastics. All of the plastics feel firm with creaking sounds when you apply pressure to the chassis. That said, given the size of the notebook, those plastics are spread out over such a large area that the notebook exterior bends and flexes under firm pressure. Despite this, we aren't too concerned about the overall durability of the chassis ... particularly since this is a desktop replacement that will rarely leave the your desk. The screen hinges offer enough resistance to hold the display in place yet aren't so tensioned that opening the laptop is difficult.'

Sony VAIO VPCF12AFM/H Review - CNET

By Admin on August 9, 2010 10:03 PM | No Comments

Sony-VAIO-VPCF12AFM-H-CNET.jpg

A review of the Sony VAIO VPCF12AFM/H desktop replacement laptop has been posted over at CNET. 'The Vaio's full-size keyboard features flat-topped, widely spaced keys that are similar to what you'd find on MacBooks. It's a nearly universal key style now, but it is one that Sony deserves credit for pioneering years ago. As this is a desktop replacement laptop, there's plenty of room for a full number pad to the right of the keyboard, as well as separate Page Up and Page Down keys. A row of quick-launch and media control buttons sit above the keyboard, which launch Sony's proprietary media software and a built-in Vaio Care tech support app that offers one-stop shopping for troubleshooting and diagnostic tools.. One misstep is that Sony incudes dedicated play, fast-forward, and rewind buttons, but to control the volume, you have to press the Fn key plus F2, F3, and F4.'
