Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Samsung R530 laptop. 'Thanks to its 15.6-inch screen, the R530 falls comfortably within the desktop replacement bracket. At 2.5kg in weight, however, it's not totally importable so long as you have a decent bag to carry it in (e.g. Pakuma Akara A1). If you take it out on the road, the R530 should survive a few bumps and scrapes. Rugged it isn't, but the basic build quality is sound and the comparative lack of scratch prone surfaces is a rare bonus.'

Samsung-Q330-Trusted-Reviews.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Samsung Q330 laptop. 'Fundamentally, then, the Q330 is just a normal laptop made smaller and lighter: 1.96kg to be precise. This is nice weight for a laptop, as is the 13-inch form-factor a good size for slinging in a bag to and from lectures or the office. In this respect the Q330 has more in common with the Apple MacBook and MacBook Pro 13-inch, though it's considerably cheaper than either. Naturally this more affordable price comes at the cost of the materials used, but the Q330 is no ugly ducking. As is typical of Samsung it's kept things as simple as possible, matching a near-black lid with matt silver on the inside to good effect.'

Samsung R780 Review - CNET UK

CNET UK have published a review of the Samsung R780 multimedia laptop. 'At around 411 by 40 by 273mm, the R780 is a fairly substantial laptop, but, on the plus side, its bulky dimensions mean there's loads of extra space for that lovely glossy red finish to cover. This deep red covers not only the R780's lid, but also stretches around the keyboard and goes right up to the hinge. It's a consistency of style we see in precious few machines, and Samsung deserves praise for creating a laptop that looks good both inside and out. Pretty much everything that's not red is an understated matte black.'

Samsung R580 Review - Tech Radar

Tech Radar have published a review of the Samsung R580 (Core i5) laptop. 'The first thing to notice about the laptop is its stylish design. Instead of implementing a dull, matt-black look, Samsung has opted for an interesting red and black patterned finish. Appearing on both the lid and chassis itself, it won't be to everyone's tastes, but certainly isn't offensive and will stand out in the crowd. The 15.6-inch screen may not boast the high resolution of the Packard Bell ProBook 6440b or Sony VAIO VPC-EB1Z0E/B, yet it is just as vivid with excellent colour reproduction, while also being very bright. This makes it ideal for photographers or video makers looking for a colourful and accurate panel.'

Pocket-lint have published a review of the Samsung R580 laptop. 'This laptop has a 15.6-inch screen, a curious in-between size if you ask me. It's certainly big enough for desktop use, but if you're not going to move it around much, you might prefer a bigger display still. On the other hand, it's just too big and heavy to be comfortably carted about a lot. The glam styling may make you feel it's worth the lug. The size does mean there's room for an extended keyboard, which you'll be glad of when you're using a spreadsheet. Those plentiful keys are well-spaced and well-sprung, though decent rather than outstanding for extended typing.'

A review of the Samsung R530 laptop has been posted over at Computeractive. 'The Samsung R530 offers good performance and has an eye-catching, 15.6in widescreen display. The screen has a 16:9 aspect ratio (the ratio of the screen's width to its height), which means that widescreen video such as a film can be played without extra black bars appearing at the top and bottom of the screen. It also gives plenty of desktop space when working, although it's not as good as narrower screens for browsing the web, among other things.'

Samsung X520 Review - Trusted Reviews

Trusted Reviews have published their review of the Samsung X520 - 15.6in CULV laptop. 'Lifting up X520's display reveals a matt black interior - bravo Samsung as we're not fans of glossy ones! The screen's surround is slightly convex, fitting snugly into the partially concave base, the sides of which are accented by a faux-chrome strip. Build quality is generally good though the chassis does suffer from flex here and there. Samsung's latest presents an extremely simple and minimal design overall, with a power button sporting a tiny blue LED - the only control aside from the keyboard and touchpad. All the other shortcuts and controls usually found on a separate strip are incorporated into the keyboard as secondary functions and are clearly laid out.'

Samsung R519 Review - PC Advisor

Samsung-R519.jpg

PC Advisor have published a review of the Samsung R519 laptop. 'Our sample of Samsung R519 is based on an Intel Dual Core processor - not to be confused with the cooler and faster Core 2 Duo chips - yet its quite capable of taking on most domestic duties. In WorldBench 6 tests, the Samsung R519 scored a useful 75 points; or about twice that of your average netbook. This older tech CPU runs a little hotter than the latest, a fact reflected in the mediocre battery life tests. Despite a promising 6-cell battery (albeit with an unexceptional 44Wh capacity; two-thirds of that found in Samsung netbooks) our best MobileMark 2007 score was 187 mins.'

Samsung X120 (JA01UK) - Trusted Reviews

Samsung-X120.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Samsung X120 (JA01UK) - 11.6in CULV laptop. 'Our version of the X120 is powered by a dual-core Intel Pentium SU4100. It runs at 1.30GHz, has 2MB of L2 Cache and is supported by an ample 3GB of system memory. A 250GB hard drive provides the storage and graphics come courtesy of Intel's GMA 4500M HD integrated chip. Wireless-N Wi-Fi is included for speedy wireless performance, as is Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR for peripherals, though wired networking is the standard 10/100 LAN rather than the faster Gigabit variety. Most people will use Wi-Fi, though, so the latter isn't a great concern.'
