Acer-Aspire-5942G-524G64Bn-Trusted-Reviews.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Acer Aspire 5942G-524G64Bn 15.6in laptop. 'Looking around the system reveals all the connectivity you could ever want from a multimedia laptop. Naturally an HDMI port is present, as is VGA, and they are joined by a trio of audio jacks: one headphone jack; one microphone jack, and one line-out/SPDIF output. There's also an infrared (CIR) receiver on the front edge, though its positioning is far from optimal for easy line of sight and Acer doesn't provide a remote itself. Other sundries include a 54mm ExpressCard slot, a mini-FireWire port, memory card reader and the ever present Ethernet port. You get four USB ports in total: three standalone ports and one that doubles as an eSATA connection for faster data transfer from compatible external hard drives/memory keys.'

Acer Aspire 8935G Review- Pocket-lint

Acer-Aspire-8935G-Pocket-lint.jpg

Pocket-lint have published a review of the Acer Aspire 8935G Notebook. 'The quality of the Aspire 8935G is excellent, with strong plastics used throughout, and despite its size the big screen is held firmly in place as you type. It's a bulky machine though, and with a weight of 4.5kg we wouldn't want to take it a lot further than the next room. This machine's media credentials continue through to the components used, and ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4670 graphics card offers enough shove to play the latest games with ease. That said, you may have to turn the HD resolution down slightly in some of the more demanding titles. Office performance is equally capable, with a mid-range Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 processor and 4096MB of speedy DDR3 RAM making light work of everything we threw at it.'

Acer-Aspire-8940G.jpg

A review of the Acer Aspire 8940G desktop replacement system has been posted over at NotebookReview.com. 'The Acer Aspire 8940G shows quite a bit of resemblance to the Acer Aspire One ... keeping the same hinge shape and position as well as the protruding rear-edge of the main body that you can see when the lid is closed. The side profile of the 8940G doesn't look much thicker than a smaller 15" or 17" notebook. The sloped front and rear edge do a great job of masking thickness even further while also making it more comfortable to carry. Inside you have a completely flat surface containing the keyboard, touchpad, speakers, and multimedia keys. The keyboard is even recessed just enough so the flat keys lay flush with the outer bezel.'

Acer-Aspire-AS1410-8414.jpg

The Acer Aspire AS1410-8414 11.6-Inch Sapphire Blue Laptop (6 hour gattery life) has been reduced from $449.99 to $399.99 over at Amazon Marketplace. 'Weighing just over 3 pounds and measures 1.2 inches slim, the Acer Aspire AS1410-8414 makes it easy to roam the globe with a powerful PC. It includes a 6-cell battery that provides up to 6 hours of continuous use and a vividly colorful 11.6-inch LCD screen as well as an HDMI port for connecting it to an external monitor or HDTV for viewing presentations and movies. Presented in a stylish sapphire blue case, the thin and light Aspire 1410 also features a full-size keyboard and Acer's Comfy Touch technology, which uses an innovative Laminar Wall Jet Engine design to air-cool the processor and notebook case.'

Acer Aspire AS5534-1146 Review - PC Mag

Acer-Aspire-AS5534-1146.jpg

PC Magazine have published a review of the Acer Aspire AS5534-1146 laptop. 'Draped in a swank, gun-metal gray chassis, the Acer AS5534 looks very similar to the Acer Aspire Timeline AS3810T. The difference, though, is that the AS5534 uses plastics instead of aluminum metals to pull off this look. Skimping on materials is an understandable practice, especially at this price point. What impresses me most about the AS5534's design is that its dimensions (14.9-by-10-by-1 inches, HWD) are as thin that of as the Timeline series, which, as a group, is no more than an inch thick. In comparison, the Dell Studio 1555 (USE006CS), Gateway NV5807u, and Toshiba Satellite L505D-S6947 are almost a half-an-inch thicker because they incorporate too much into their plastics (i.e. embedded patterns and colors). The AS5534 is the lightest among its 15.6-inch peers, too, weighing in at 5.2 pounds.'

Acer-Aspire-3935-744G25Mn.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Acer Aspire 3935-744G25Mn - 13.3in laptop. 'Laptops Direct offers it for just a smidgen under £600, which still nets you a Centrino 2 spec Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 that runs at 2.13GHz on a speedy 1,066MHz front-side bus, along with 3MB L2 Cache. This is backed up by 4GB of DDR3 RAM, though disappointingly there's no 64-bit OS to make the most of the memory. You also get a 250GB hard disk providing ample storage space. In comparison, the Samsung Q320 we reviewed has just 3GB of DDR2 RAM and a slower 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 that has just 2MB L2 Cache and narrower 800MHz front-side bus. It costs more, too, at around £650 or more depending on where you look.'

Acer-TravelMate-8571.jpg

Notebook Check have published a review of the Acer TravelMate 8571 Notebook. 'The TravelMate 8571 didn't score very well in Windows Vista performance index. The CPU (4.6), the RAM (4.9) and the hard disk (5.5) still achieved fairly good results. In return, Windows assessed the graphic card with only 3.2 (graphics) and 3.3 (graphics games) points. With help from the DPC Latency Checker tool, we also checked the latencies under Windows. If these are too high, it can come to problems at connecting external devices (for example sound crackling with external sound cards). The TravelMate 8571 does well in this respect, the latencies reached roughly 1000 µs at most and is, therefore, still in an unproblematic field.'

Acer-Aspire-7735Z-424G32Mn.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Acer Aspire 7735Z-424G32Mn - 17.3in laptop. 'Opening the laptop up reveals a more traditional and somewhat less attractive combination of black and gunmetal grey. Thankfully all the important bits like the touchpad, palm-rests and keyboard have been kept matte, with the only glossy parts being the two strips either side of the keyboard and the screen's bezel. Another noticeable point is that this Acer has no touch-sensitive controls. Playback keys rely solely on secondary functions along the top of the number pad, with volume assigned to the up/down cursor keys.'
