Asus-Lamborghini-VX2SE.jpg

IT Reviews have published a review of the feature-packed Asus Lamborghini VX2SE Notebook. 'Asus's Lamborghini range has been around for a little while and the VX2SE is the latest incarnation of the series, powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, with an 800MHz FSB speed and 4MB of L2 cache. This is backed by 4GB of PC2-5300, 667MHz, DDR2 memory, the most the motherboard supports, so it should see you through all your daily office needs comfortably.

Asus Eee PC 901 - Brighthand

Asus-Eee-PC-901-Brighthand.jpg

Brighthand have published a review of the Asus Eee PC 901 (Windows XP) ultraportable. 'The design of the original Eee PC was something truly unique in the market. Weighing in at just two pounds and delivering a performance level similar to a full-featured budget notebook, the only model that came close to "directly" competing with the Eee PC in 2007 was the Fujitsu LifeBook U810 tablet PC, which retailed for more than $1,000 last year. After the success of the original Eee PC, other manufacturers have started to flood the market with low-cost mini notebooks. The Eee PC isn't the only kid on the block anymore, which is why Asus is trying to raise the bar with the Eee PC 901.'

ASUS Eee Box PC - PC Mag

ASUS-Eee-Box-PC.jpg

A review of the ASUS Eee Box PC has been posted over at PC Mag. 'The Eee Box is a 7-by-1.2-by-8.8-inch (HWD) slab, though the height really tops out at 8.8 inches with the not-really-optional stand. The stand is easy to connect and holds the Eee Box at an angle to the desk. You'll definitely want to use it, since the system has cooling vents on the bottom of the chassis. Though it has internal cooling fans, I couldn't hear the Eee Box during normal operations. The Eee Box comes with a mounting bracket that can bolt on to the VESA mounting points on many LCD monitors; mounted in this way, it will look like an all-in-one desktop (for a fraction of the price).

Review: ASUS Eee PC 1000 - Laptop Mag

ASUS-Eee-PC-1000-Laptop-Mag.jpg

Laptop Magazine have published a review of the ASUS Eee PC 1000 (Linux). 'With a 10-inch screen and spacious keyboard, the $699 mini-notebook sports the same exact design as its sibling Eee PC 1000H ($549). But the Eee PC 1000 (note the lack of an H) isn’t just a copycat: its 40GB solid state drive—the biggest SSD in a mini-notebook to date—and ASUS’ customized version of Xandros Linux (now with more preloaded applications) make it faster and longer lasting. We just wish it cost a bit less

Asus M70SA-X2 - Digital Trends

Asus-M70SA-X2.jpg

A review of the Asus M70SA-X2 Notebook has been posted over at Digital Trends. 'Like most high-powered notebooks these days, the M70S runs on an Intel platform and features an Intel “Penryn” Core 2 Duo processor running at 2.5GHz with 6MB of L2 cache. Although the M70S uses the 32-bit version of Windows Vista Home Premium, it still has 4GB of RAM, though the operating system can only see 3GB of that memory. Its Intel chipset features wireless A/G/N support, which is a must-have feature for today’s notebooks in our opinion.

Asus Eee PC 901 - CNET

Asus-Eee-PC-901-CNET.jpg

A review of the Asus Eee PC 901 (Windows XP) Netbook has been posted over at CNET. 'The new Eee PC is marginally larger than the first 9-inch version, the Eee PC 900, and our review unit had a glass black finish, rather than the white, pearlized plastic look of the three previous Eee PCs we've reviewed. The Eee PC is still incredibly small, about the size of a trade paperback book, a size that until recently was only available in high-priced ultraportable laptops or even higher-priced UMPCs. The touch pad now has two distinct mouse buttons, as opposed to the rocker-style left/right switch on previous Eee PC models. The touch pad still supports the gesture controls (similar to those on the MacBook Air and Pro) first introduced on the Eee PC 900. Images can be pinched and unpinched with the thumb and forefinger to zoom in and out, and two fingers can be used to scroll up and down Web pages.'

Asus U2E Review - Pocket-Lint

Asus-U2E-Review.jpg

Pocket-Lint have published a review of the Asus U2E lightweight notebook PC. 'Weighing 1.3kg, this is a lightweight and highly portable notebook. To hit this weight, you'll find the screen is an 11.1-inch Super-TFT panel that uses LCD technology, which is essentially a row of tiny bulbs running along the bottom of the display. This technology offers better power consumption as well as a truer image. The 1366 x 768-pixel panel may be small but there is no denying the sharpness of image quality. We found it a pleasure to use on the move as well as in the office.

Asus Eee PC 1000H - TweakTown

ASUS-Eee-PC-1000H-TweakTown.jpg

TweakTown gets under the cover of the new ASUS Eee PC 1000H PC and provides some insights on the components of the ultraportable. 'Eee PC 1000H is Taiwan’s version of the latest Eee PC launched by ASUS late in 2007. Since then, like a wildfire the Eee PC revolution has burned asunder all competition before it. There is literally no other genré of PC like it. However, that being said, I have to say the look and feel of the model we are looking at today is a lot different from the first Eee PC we originally exposed in all her innocence a while ago.'

Asus Eee PC 901 - PC Advisor

Asus-Eee-PC-901-PC-Advisor.jpg

PC Advisor have publsihed a review of the Asus Eee PC 901 ultraportable. 'At first glance, there’s little to separate the latest 901 version of the Asus mini-laptop from the 900 model that was released less than two months ago. So now the casework is subtly restyled, giving gentler rounded corners, and the finish is glossier, where the previous model was satin. But the important difference lies in Asus’ choice of processor. Out goes the 900MHz Celeron, and in comes 1.6GHz of brand new Intel Atom. Lifting the lid, we have the same 8.9in screen, a useful step up from the 7in of the original Eee PC 701, allowing the display to fill out the lid space more naturally.'

ASUS Eee PC 1000H Review - Laptop Mag

ASUS-Eee-PC-1000H-Windows-XP.jpg

Laptop Magazine have published a review of the ASUS Eee PC 1000H (Windows XP) sub notebook. 'Similar to the Eee PC 901, the 1000H has an updated look and feel from earlier Eee PC models. The glossy black “Fine Ebony” lid is accented with the new Eee PC logo in cursive script. Add in the improved silver hinge and the black-on-silver combination and you have a high-fashion look. Unlike the 901’s shiny white lid, the 1000H is not immune to fingerprints; ASUS includes a cloth for wiping down the system.'

Asus Eee PC 901 Review - Register Hardware

Asus-Eee-PC-901-Register-Hardware.jpg

The Register Hardware have published a review of the Asus Eee PC 901 (Linux Edition). 'Open the machine's lid, and you see the same 8.9in, 1024 x 600 screen as before and, above it, the same 1.3-megapixel webcam. However, the 901 comes with a dual pick-up microphone array, the better for VoIP calls using the bundled Skype software. The keyboard's much the same - always an Eee strong point - but there's now a chrome-styled bar above it that's home to the new, slim power key at one end and a set of screen and performance controls at the other. Asus' choice of icons is odd, since it's not immediately clear what these keys are for, but trial and error reveals that the first turns the screen off - handy for power conservation. The second flips the screen from native resolution to what appears to be 800 x 480, the original Eee screen resolution, though why you'd want to, God alone knows.'

ASUS M70SA-C1 Review - Laptop Mag

ASUS-M70SA-C.jpg

Laptop Magazine have published a review of the feature-rich ASUS M70SA-C1 Notebook. 'The first thing that jumps out at you when you lift the M70SA-C1’s eye-catching, black pinstriped lid is the gorgeous 17-inch (1920 x 1080 resolution) widescreen display, which delivers true 1080p videos. When we popped a Blu-ray version of There Will Be Blood into the 2X Blu-ray drive, we were pleased with the fine detail, rich blacks, and vibrant colors of the on-screen images. Above the display resides a 1.3-megapixel webcam that provides bright and fairly sharp video. The webcam also works in tandem with Asus’ SmartLogon facial recognition software, which allowed us to login to the M70SA-C1 simply by facing the camera.'

Asus-Eee-PC-901-20G-Linux-Edition.jpg

Trusted Reviews have published a review of the Asus Eee PC 901 20G Linux Edition PC. 'As with the MSI Wind, Asus has also adopted a CPU throttling scheme that it is calling Super Hybrid Engine - catchy, eh? It has three performance modes, Power Saver, High Performance and Super Performance. When left to its own devices the system will activate the Power Saver mode, which clocks the CPU down to 1.2GHz, when unplugged and activate the standard clocked 1.6GHz ‘High' Performance mode when plugged in.'

Asus Eee PC 900 Review - HotHardware

Asus-Eee-PC-900-UMPC.jpg

HotHardware have published a review of the Asus Eee PC 900 UMPC. ‘Asus ships the Eee PC 900 in an unassuming box adorned with the likeness of the system. Inside, we found a detailed User's Manual, a Quick Start Guide, a warranty card, and a couple of DVDs - one with the Linux recovery image and the other a Support CD that contains a number of useful tools for reconfiguring or restoring the Eee PC, including a utility to create a bootable thumb drive with the factory OS image. In addition to the aforementioned items, Asus also included a 36W power adapter and a simple, padded pouch. If you're familiar with the Eee PC 700 series, you'll notice the newer 900 series machine includes a more traditional power adapter with a cord and not a wall brick like the 700 series.'

ASUS EeePC 900 Review – PC Mag

ASUS-EeePC-900.jpg

PC Magazine have published a review of the affordable ASUS EeePC 900 laptop. ‘Although the EeePC 900 is not as light as the 1.5-pound Samsung Q1 Ultra, it comes with something well worth the extra weight—a functional keyboard. Because the dimensions haven't increased, the EeePC 900 retains its 83 percent keyboard. The 92 percent keyboard on the HP Mini-Note is far more comfortable to type on, as the tightly spaced keys have the feel of a full-size keyboard. You can attempt to touch-type on the EeePC 900, but that will take some practice and a lot of patience. Even more annoying, however, are the stiff mouse buttons. They make a loud clicking noise, and you'll have to exert some force to press them.

ASUS Lamborghini VX3-A1 Review - ZDNet

ZDNet have published a review of the ASUS Lamborghini VX3-A1 laptop. 'The $3,299 Asus Lamborghini VX3 is a lap-based homage to the famous sports car of the same name, complete with a screamingly bright automotive yellow paint job. We've seen car-themed laptops before, from Acer's Ferrari to a Toughbook-like Hummer laptop, and their audience is usually limited to auto enthusiasts who don't mind paying a premium for what is essentially window dressing on a set of fairly standard laptop components.

ASUS M70 Review - PC Authority

ASUS-M70.jpg

PC Authority have published a review of the new ASUS M70 Blu-Ray Notebook. 'The M70 is a milestone for a couple of reasons. Firstly it's a powerful machine, with a Blu-Ray drive, but it doesn't break the $5,000 mark. At $3,699 it's expensive, but this is cheaper than what HD afficionados have paid in the past (up to $5,000 or more for Toshiba's Qosmio G40). Take into account Acer's $2,699 Blu-Ray 8920G and it's clear the cost of full HD is coming down, if slowly.

Asus EEE PC Review - InfoSync World

Asus-EEE-PC.jpg

InfoSync World have published a review of the Asus EEE PC ultraportable. ‘The keyboard and trackpad on the EEE PC are not only tiny, they include some design choices that make them even more difficult to use. On the keyboard, the tiny keys meant that we often missed our mark with annoying results. We pressed the arrow key went we meant to shift. We pressed Delete when we meant to Backspace. The keys themselves felt flimsy and cheap, which they probably are, considering the machine's price tag. But this meant that typing wasn't very comfortable, and often our keystrokes wouldn't register if we didn't type carefully and deliberately.

Asus U2E Review - InfoSync World

Asus-U2E.jpg

InfoSync World have published a review of the Asus U2E business laptop. ‘The Asus U2E we reviewed was the "Asus Leather Collection" edition, and it was a gorgeous machine. The lid of the display and the wrist-rest along the keyboard were both trimmed in a stiff but tactile leather, with lots of bright, polished, chrome-looking accents. The lid closed without a latch, a classy touch, and, with the exception of the bottom of the machine, the entire effect is very classic with a touch of executive class. The look is spoiled a bit when the 9-cell battery protrudes from the back, but with the smaller 3-cell battery in place, it is easily the most elegant little machine we've gotten our hands on.’

'The ASUS U6E has a rich cream-colored aluminum alloy cover with subtle metallic accents, while the ASUS U6S has a mocha brown metallic finish. ASUS claims that the LCD cover’s finish takes 13 steps to complete. The brushed metal look with slim silver accent lines compliments the creamy leather bound wrist rest on the inside. As a whole package, the notebook looks classy, clean and high quality. Asus M50SV-AS016G Review - PC Authority

Asus-M50SV-AS016G.jpg

PC Authority have published a review of the Asus M50SV-AS016G laptop. ‘Asus’ brand-new entertainment laptop, the M50SV, is notable for debuting not one, but two cutting-edge technologies. Not content with being powered by one of Intel’s first 45nm Penryn processors, it also has the first Nvidia GeForce 9000 series gaming chip we’ve seen at PC Authority. And all this is housed in a very stylish and desirable chassis. The processor in question is a 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo T9300, one of the new family recently announced by Intel. The move to a 45nm fabrication process gives more scope for squeezing extra performance from the CPU without raising the power consumption (35W TDP). It also has a larger 6MB shared L2 cache and an 800MHz front side bus – a combination promising extremely quick performance.’

InfoSync World have published a review of the ASUS U6E business ultraportable. 'ASUS has never been afraid to break out its paint brush for its notebooks, and the U6E immediately stands out from other 12.1-inch business notebooks with its shiny white exterior. It‘s a glossy shade of pearly white that surprisingly does not collect fingerprint smudges. The U6E is on the upper end of its weight class at 3.8 pounds, but with a 12.1-inch screen it still deserves to be categorized as an ultraportable.

PC Magazine have published a review of the feature-rich ASUS-Lamborghini VX2S laptop. 'Given all the professional detailing and heavier metals it uses, the VX2S weighs more than most laptops in its class. It tips the scales at 7 pounds, almost 2 pounds heavier than the 5.3-pound Apple MacBook Pro 15-inch—and this is coming from the company that designs the Apple chassis. It's heavier than the HP Pavilion dv6500t (5.8 pounds) and the Toshiba Qosmio F45-AV425 (6.8 pounds), both of which have similar footprints. The VX2S's 15.4-inch widescreen is the glossy type that does a fine job of displaying high-resolution photos and movie clips.

ASUS A7S Review - PC Authority

ASUS-A7S.jpg

PC Authority have published a review of the ASUS A7S desktop replacement PC. 'Compared to the sleek lines of the Dells and Sony, Asus’ A7S seems a little dated. But look past aesthetics and the A7S gives its rivals a lot to worry about. Just glance through the specifications (page 70), and you’ll see it’s a real bargain. It may cost $2150 when Toshiba’s P200 is only $1525, but the A7S offers a far superior combination of power and features, which makes it an excellent desktop replacement.

Asus V2S Reviewed

Asus-V2S.jpg

Joseph Spangler writing over at Notebook Review has posted a review of the ASUS V2S Notebook. 'First and foremost, the V2S looks great. It's predominantly black with silver trim/accents. I was initially worried that the integrated swivel webcam would be a distraction, but thankfully it blends rather well into the notebook as a whole (I would still prefer a clean bezel, but the webcam looks much worse in pictures then in person). When closed the notebook appears very sleek, with an all black finish only interrupted by a silver Asus emblem in the middle, and the previously mentioned silver webcam. All of the ports/switches are on the left and right sides, along with the vent, with the exception of the power input (on the back) and a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth switch (on the front). This arrangement takes nothing away from the V2S in terms of looks, and in fact I think it makes it much more comfortable to handle/carry around. The computer feels very solid in-hand, it's not a tank like other business notebooks, but it's not flimsy by any means.'

Review: Asus R1E Tablet PC - Tablet PC Review

Asus-R1E.jpg

Jerelyn Parker writing over at Tablet PC Review has posted a review of the Asus R1E Tablet PC. ‘The dimensions of the R1E are 12.6" (W) x 9.48" (D) x 1.37" (H) and it weighs in at 4.3lbs. It has the same design as the Asus R1F. It is a sturdy, beveled little gray armful. Not light enough to carry around on your arm for hours, but great to prop against a knee or use on your lap with your feet propped up. I did not find any flex or wobble in any part of the chassis. Compared to the 12.1" Dell XPS m1210 the Asus R1E was surprisingly, not that much larger, thanks to more efficient use of screen space and the monstrous battery of the Dell. On our home scale they were the same weight. I'm not sure whether this speaks well of the Asus, or poorly of the Dell.’

Asus G2S Review - CNET

Asus-G2S.jpg

CNET have published a review of the Asus G2S gaming laptop. 'The G2S has a decidedly industrial flair, with a brushed-metal lid and wrist rest and black interior. The black keyboard tray, upon closer inspection, reveals a subtle crosshatch pattern, which adds some pleasing depth to the flat surfaces of the laptop. Metal accents in the lid on the hinges add an industrial flavor, but the red lights on the sides of the lid are a little too bold for our tastes. Many of these design touches are the same as those found on Asus' 15-inch G1 gaming laptop.

Asus-VX2S-Lamborghini.jpg

PC Authority have published a review of the stylish Asus VX2S Lamborghini Notebook. 'Available in lacquered Lambo yellow or carbon-fibre black, the VX2S has a solid feel, and the leather keyboard surround with yellow stitching, stylish design and silver base contribute to its high-end appeal. If it’s wow-factor you’re after; the VX2S has it in spades. The keyboard is comfortable and well-sized. The glossy 1680 x 1050 screen is clear and sharp and the speakers are respectable. Under the hood is a Santa Rosabased spec, featuring a 2.2GHz T7500, 2GB RAM, 1GB of Intel Turbo Memory (codename: Robson) and a 4200rpm 200GB hard drive. Given the components, our benchmarks delivered a disappointing 0.86 – nowhere near the top of the charts. This is likely to be due to the unit’s pre-production status. Certainly, we’d expect more power from the final version.'
