A review of the Durabook D14RM rugged laptop has been posted over at Geek.com. 'The D14RM starts at $1519, a fairly inexpensive price for a ruggedized computer. In keeping with the tough nature of the computer it has a magnesium case that is able to withstand 26 drops from 76cm (unit off and display closed, as per US military testing specification 810F) as well as a shock-resistant design, spill-resistant keyboard, and dust-proof covers over all external ports. The D14RM also has rubber bumpers on the outside of the case for grip and protection and a lock-able optical drive so it won't pop out by accident. The result is a computer that measures 13.8×10x1.6-inches, weighs 5.5 pounds, and, while certainly tough, looks a little odd. In fact, it looks a bit like a prop from a '90s movie about futuristic police.'
