Bios Magazine.co.uk: Evesham Voyager C545 UMPC Review

Bios Magazine reviews the Evesham Voyager C545 laptop which possesses the features and capabilities of the more popular brands. 'Evesham Technology, the UK-based PC manufacturer, has added to its range of ultra-portable laptops with the Voyager C545, a relatively low-priced system which combines plenty of power and portability. The only ‘downside’ is that its design is a little bland - especially compared to Dell and Sony’s latest offerings. Weighing a mere 2.2kg (338x247x36mm) and packed with the latest technology, the two-tone grey Voyager C545 may be the ideal solution for taking work and play on the move if you’re not bothered about a big-brand system.

The base system (from £699 inc. VAT) includes an Intel Celeron M processor 410 (1.46GHz, 1MB cache, 533MHz), 512MB DDR2 RAM (667MHz), 60GB 5400rpm Serial ATA hard disk, 14.1-inch WXGA widescreen display (1280x800 pixels), Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 950, and Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. You can expect up to 3 hours from the 6-cell battery, which is a little disappointing for this class of laptop. Thankfully, Evesham offers an additional 9-cell Lithium-ion battery (£89.99).'
